Night Photography, Same same but different

Here are three different renderings of last nights sky. First I took 720 images over a course of 6 hours. They are all shot at F2.8 ISO 400 EXP 30″ and here is what I did with them.

First is a Nightlapse in which I sequentially organize the photos “side by side”(NO STACKING) and give each a playing time duration equivalent to what our eye perceives as video motion.

Second is a composite image in which I “stacked”(layered) all 720 photos directly on top of each other to create the same affect as if I had just done one single 6 hour exposure photograph. I love single long exposure shots but one benefit to taking lots of individual images is that it allows you to create the other two styles of images I am showing here.

Third is a composition of all 720 images in which each photo is “stacked” on top of the prior photo starting with image one and adding all 720 photos on top at a time interval that our eye perceives as video motion.

Enjoy the nigh sky!
