>Road Trip

>

So as they say in the great movie Road Trip….”if it were easy it would just be the way!” I proved this today on my 4×4 expedition (except that I didn’t realize I was in a 2wd because it had a 4L gear. Which normally means 4 wheel low, right?). Being from SD I had no idea the grass would be totally saturated and soft. Lesson learned. So anyway, long story short I buried my gramps 2wd equinox. Luckily Howard and his 80ish year old dad pulled me out with their tractor. I did get a little harassing from my mom lol.

>A sad day for surfing

>

Today we lost one of the worlds best surfers. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends. He touched many lives.

Here is an article describing what happened.

PRINCETON — An accomplished big-wave surfer died at Maverick’s on Wednesday while surfing waves up to 60 feet.
Sion Milosky, 35, of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii, apparently drowned after enduring a two-wave hold down around 6:30 p.m., according to Maverick’s surfer Ken Collins, with whom Milosky was staying in Santa Cruz.
Collins said Nathan Fletcher, an invitee to The Jay at Maverick’s Big Wave Contest who had traveled to Santa Cruz with Milosky, went looking for Milosky on a Jet Ski shortly after he fell. Collins said Fletcher found Milosky’s body at the Half Moon Bay Harbor mouth, about a mile from the break, 20 minutes after the incident.
Milosky was named the North Shore Underground Surfer of the Year last month. He used some of the prize of $25,000 in travel funds to fly to Santa Cruz on Sunday to catch one of the last big swells of the season at Maverick’s, near Half Moon Bay.
“Sion was dominating it. He was out there catching so many waves, he was so good,” said Collins, also a Jay at Maverick’s invitee. “Everybody was like, ‘Who is that? What are you doing letting Hawaiians take over your wave?’ That’s what blows my mind the most is that he was doing all that, and then he drowned.”
Milosky is survived by his wife and two young daughters.

>Japan

>

For all of those who have been fortunate enough to travel to Japan you know how considerate, caring and hard working most people there are. Lots of people are experiencing hardship like none of us could imagine. If anybody has the means to help out all of our friends over there, you can easily make a $10 USD donation to the RED CROSS by simply texting “redcross” to 90999.

Another amazing La Jolla sunset.
The world famous second row of the shores parking lot.
Cinco de Mayo cackling contest!
Australia ’03. What I really like about this pic is that the old guy crept into frame…..just makes me laugh.
Kalle and I checking out the seals by the cove.
Mom and I in Alaska with our warm hot chocolate.
The best monkey of all time. I miss him so much! He would wait outside our window for me to wake up and play with him.
This was a fun trip. We hit Bryce Canyon, Lake Mojave and this is Zion National Park.

>My apologies for not having any recent posts. My gramps wound up in ICU so I hopped a plane to buffalo on Friday. He appears to be doing much better so I'm excited about that. A bunch more tests to be done tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!
