Even though the waves could have been a lot better, it cleaned up enough to see some real shredding in the final. The move of the event was clearly Hunter Lysaught bringing down a huge, flaring, frontside air reverse. However, the best wave ridden of the event, in a very close decision was awarded to Joel Peek. He took home a Sector 9 complete for a full speed wrapping carve on the outside, followed by several more speed floaters and a fin free blast on the inside. Congrats bud! Another standout performer was Remy Juboori who had the most 7+ point rides in the event. All the contestants scored cool stuff thanks to our sponsors Rusty Surfboards, Rusty Clothing, Creatures of Leasure and Sector Nine!
In the end it was the team of Hunter Lysaught, Myles Lane-Toner, Joel Peek and Fano Rakigijija taking the victory in an action packed final. For their efforts all the boys won a free shaped surfboard blank from Rusty Surfboards!
I’m pumped everybody showed up, and a special thanks to Garret Scurr and Chris Nyhan for getting the event organized and having so many snacks for everyone!

Nike Lowers Pro ’12 Video
Here is a little video I made from last Saturday when I went down to the Nike Lowers Pro. I only had the camera out for about an hour but there was a lot of great surfing going on. I apologize for the shaky camera work since I was balancing on a log and obviously didn’t have a tripod, but here it is. Enjoy!
GoPro take 2
I headed out with my Z-Gear vest the other day and tried filming off of my back shoulder this time. I think if I adjust the camera better next time too, I’ll be able to get more action and less of my ugly mug in the frame. But that will just have to wait I guess. Enjoy.
