Oakley Surf Shop Challenge

Rusty Boardhouse had a pretty awesome team assembled for the Oakley Shop Challenge this year. It consisted of Jake Halstead, Hunter Lysaught, Jacob Szekely and myself. Halstead was our “whammy” surfer and did a great job navagating the chop, disbursing water and doubling a very good score of a 7.8. Unfortunately though, Surfride posted some pretty big scores all around and as they say….second place IS the first loser and we will not be going to Bali.

Taylor Lorden

I was scolded on facebook for not posting anything in the last week and a half. So this post is dedicated to Taylor Lorden for kicking my butt in to gear. These are some pictures I have taken over that time. We have had some great waves and my grandma turned 94 on Tuesday the 3rd. 20120405-213201.jpg20120405-213213.jpg

Roberts Future Fins

It was another fun day in LJ. I got a chance to try a couple of my boards with the new Roberts fins. I really liked the fins a lot. They were very responsive for being that large of a fin, and had no problem releasing out or over the back while providing plenty of hold through turns. I highly recommend these fins for anybody looking for a fin for their everyday or performance shortboard. Here is the official write up from Future:

Slackerr

I rode my new 5’8″ Slackerr this morning before work. The board worked really good and the waves were super fun so I really wanted to do more “R&D” and not get out to go to work but…
Anyway, here’s a few pics. The slackerr is 5’8″x18.7″x2.3″
