Here’s what was going on where the sea meets the shore. Lots of people, and I’m sure everybody was thankful to have the day off.

It’s getting cold and I’m getting excited for a good reason. Check out this Sander video.

It may be generous calling today’s waves knee high however Johnny Noris, Jacob Szekely, Michael Gumina and myself ran a couple heats anyways. There was some intense action. Jacob used an abandoned softop to successfully block me from catching a certain 10 point ride but then Johnny was able to burn him and use the old “push him off his board” technique to stop any scoring potential for Jacob. When the sea salt settled it was Michael taking the win with a tail free reverse on a BOMB, thigh high set to take home the grand prize of one Purple Mr. Zogs Sex Wax. Congratulations!

New Jolla had some fun waves on offer today.

It was windy early and pretty junky all day but there was a quick window this evening when it wasn’t all that bad.

The surf is pretty small but I went down to negros anyway. I got a few waist high clean ups. At least it was super clean and the right amount of people in the water.

Ryan Denning has been doing his Autumn Sun series on www.alpine-live.com lately and he got some clips of me right after getting off of the airplane and threw in some cameo shots from when I was hanging out at Summer Sessions with Ty into the first installment of the series.  In the second video it picks up with Kyle Morin(my buddy that was cool enough to pick me up) and I paddling out for my first session. When I come back in my eyes are ridiculously red from the overnight flight. I didn’t sleep at all and crushed two Red Bulls right before I paddled out just so that I could stay awake. So as I’m sure most of you know, last tuesday I worked until six o’clock in the evening and then decided to hop a plane to Boston because I saw the forecast looked pretty good. By eight o’clock I had packed and purchased a ticket. By ten o’clock I was in the air and here is a slideshow of my trip. All photos were taken by Michael Sander or myself. Enjoy!!
